North Vancouver's hockey stock continues to rise, as home-grown Joshua Ravensbergen begins his season with the Michigan State Spartans.
The 6'5 goaltender spent his youth playing hockey with the North Vancouver Minor Hockey Association, he would work his way up to the Vancouver NW Hawks U15 AAA of the BCEHL in 2020-21. He would continue developing with the Hawks through U17 and U18, having not been taken in the 2021 WHL bantam draft.
In his final year with Vancouver, 22-23, the team went 15-2-4 with Ravensbergen posting a 2.10 goals-against-average.
On April 24, 2023, it was announced that Ravensbergen had been signed by the Prince George Cougars as an undrafted free agent.
Expected to backup Canucks-prospect, Ty Young, Ravensbergen quickly assumed the role after a fantastic start to the 2023-24 season. He would end up playing 38 games for the Cougars, posting A .917sv% and a 2.46GAA, and tied the Cougars rookie-shutouts record with 6.
